Donate Fruit for Christmas

DonateFruit is a great way to purchase produce you need or want to give as a gift.  Their donations are matched pound-for-pound.  This means, that for every pound of fruit you purchase, a pound of fruit is given to a food bank.  What a great way to fight against hunger!  Buy a pound or two of this fruit, and make a few Christmas gift baskets to give away to people on your list.  Perhaps you can even include a little note that mentions that your recipients' fruit helped to provide fruit to hungry people.  To start your fight against hunger, click here.

Endangered Species Chocolate

What's better than a delicious chocolate bar?  When the purchase of that delicious chocolate bar benefits endangered species and greener living, of course!  I love the idea of this, and honestly, the prices are pretty reasonable.  I have a few chocolate addicts and/or animal lovers on my Christmas list who would be thrilled with a gift of this magnitude.  Looks like my Christmas list just got whittled down a little more with the discovery of this awesome site!  For more information about this company and its programs, click here.

Give a Water Bottle as a Christmas Gift

When you purchase a water bottle from Water.org, you are giving more than just a water bottle as a gift.  For every bottle purchased, $10 of it supports Water.org and it "brings safe drinking water and sanitation to people in developing countries."  Water.org also accepts simple monetary donations and donations with ecards attached (another awesome gift for people on your list).  If you don't have the money to spare, you can still help out by spreading the word about Water.org on your Facebook and/or Twitter account(s).  To see what it's all about, visit this link.

DIY Moose A. Moose Doll

Emmy LOVES Moose A. Moose (from Nick Jr.), and with Christmas fast approaching, I've been on the lookout for a cute Moose plush.  I've found one, and honestly, I'm not crazy about him (I don't really want to pay 8 dollars for a doll that only looks a little like Moose).  Here is the one I've found to purchase:

Good News:  You don't have to settle for the Moose seen above.  On the Nickelodeon website, they have instructions for a no-sew felt version.  I made her one of the Nickelodeon dolls, and it didn't turn out too bad.  It's not perfect, but it's certainly more recognizable than the $8 version (+ $5 for shipping costs)- and it cost me a total of $4 to make.  Here's the Moose that Emmy will be getting for Christmas:
